How CYRA Auto works

1

Search or send one request

Filter by state, appraisal type and credential. Or describe the car and the job once, and we’ll send it to up to three appraisers who cover your area.

2

Appraisers contact you

Your request goes straight to the appraiser. They reply to you directly, usually by email, with questions and a quote.

3

Hire direct

You choose and pay the appraiser. No call center in the middle, and CYRA Auto takes no cut of the appraisal fee.

Every credential, side by side

Good appraisers come out of many associations, and plenty of them belong to none. CYRA Auto lists them all on equal footing, so no single association decides who gets found. Credentials are shown as each appraiser lists them.

Questions

What does an auto appraiser do?

An independent auto appraiser inspects a vehicle, researches comparable sales and condition, and writes a report stating its value for a specific purpose: an insurance claim, a total-loss dispute, agreed-value coverage, an estate, a donation, a divorce or a lawsuit. Unlike an adjuster, an independent appraiser works for you, not the insurance company.

What is a certified auto appraiser?

“Certified” means the appraiser has earned a credential from a professional organization, such as ASCAA, IAAA, I-VAN or ASA, usually by completing training and agreeing to a code of ethics. Each listing on CYRA Auto shows the credentials the appraiser holds. A good appraiser will gladly show you proof.

How much does a car appraisal cost?

It depends on the vehicle, the purpose and how much research and travel the report needs. A diminished value or total-loss report usually costs less than a detailed report on a rare collector car or an expert-witness engagement. Ask any appraiser for a written quote before you hire.

Is CYRA Auto free?

Yes. Searching and sending requests is free for car owners, insurers and attorneys. A basic listing is free for appraisers. Sponsored placements are paid and always labeled.

Does CYRA Auto certify or employ appraisers?

No. CYRA Auto is an independent registry that lists appraisers from every association, and those who belong to none, on equal footing. Credentials are shown as each appraiser lists them, and you hire and pay the appraiser directly.
